Thanks again to Cassity & the Remodelaholic team for having me here again today and every month. I think, overall, it is exactly the right mix of patriotism and style! Things like a rustic barn light, a galvanized metal drink bucket, and a vintage Kit-Cat clock.

I also added in accessories that I think have a classic Americana vibe, without going overboard. theme, so I stuck with some artwork that can be both graphical- with bold colors and vivid imagery, as well as representational- since the subject matter in several pieces is fairly patriotic. I really wanted a vintage, Americana feeling, without an overwhelming U.S.A.

Keeping some rustic elements mixed in with the bright red, white, and blue color scheme helps it feel more lived in, and I like mixing patterns and textures to give the room some interest and depth. I started with some inspiration rooms that I thought had the right color scheme, with a fun twist: Found on Īnd finally, here’s what I cam up with for my own mood board, and I thought that a mud room would be a fun place to add this look and feel. So I gave myself the added challenge of designing this room with a more modern feel to it. I’m channeling Jerry Springer as I add “not that there’s anything wrong with that”, but country craft just isn’t my usual style. It seems like a lot of what I see as far as July decor, falls well within the ‘country craft’ style. Something that looks great all year, but with a distinctly American feel to it. Especially if it had the added challenge of not being too themey. So I realize the 4th of July is over, but in honor of this month, I thought a somewhat patriotic room would be fun. This month, I was inspired by our national holiday to come up with a red, white, and blue themed room that works all year round. As always, if you’ve missed any of my previous inspiration posts here on Remodelaholic, you can always check those out here. Mixed metals and a fun Sputnik light fixture add a splash of industrial style.Hello again! I’m Dawn from back this month with another mood-board for your decoration inspiration. The wall dividing the kitchen from the dining room has been removed to create a more open concept. The walls will be painted Simply White by Benjamin Moore. Other modern elements are the brush gold cabinet hardware in a clean, square style. She has been working on painting them while the demo has been going on, and I have to say I am really impressed! I will share them next week! Unfortunately they were way out of her budget, but she has opted to paint them using Fusion Mineral Paint in Midnight Blue. They are pictured above in white, however she had her heart set on navy blue cabinets. Modern elements include the clean lines of the Grimslov Ikea cabinet doors. I am very excited to share them in detail in week four if all goes according to plan! Open upper shelving is planned, and the butcher block countertop all play into the farmhouse feel.

After reading Joanna Gaines book Home Body, I think her style is a mix of Modern and Farmhouse with a splash of industrial and rustic!įarmhouse elements include the apron front sink and bridge faucet. Although this is our daughters kitchen, she does look to me for guidance and help with some design decisions.
